COMPETENCY EVALUATION

Requirements

This summative evaluation covers topics in the following areas:

• Shop Orientation
• Safety
• MSU-provided, online training
• Principles of Learning

Learn about these areas on this site and then print off the pdf to complete the evaluation and submit it to the Shop Manager for review.

After the written evaluation is completed, you will be given unsupervised access to enter the Shop space and use non-powered, hand tools. However, you must spend 0.5–3 supervised hours with each machine to be considered for a "basic" or "advanced" competency certificate in any powered tools or machinery. Some tools and activities cannot be considered completely "unsupervised", such as welding.
